Sheri has chosen two late autumn colors for the new Color Hues Challenge:

We took a drive a week ago to the Finger Lakes expecting peak foliage. Some areas were past peak—mostly orange and brown, and some were still quite green. I pulled out an older die set from Pretty Pink Posh, Fall Basket, which worked perfectly for this challenge.

I die cut all the pieces from scraps of cardstock in my boxes and then ink blended them for some dimension using three oranges and two browns. Once the pieces were colored, I assembled them in and around the basket on a dark brown Stitched Rectangle from Simon Says.

The gold sentiment is from The Greetery, and added a touch of elegance to the arrangement. The stamped and gold embossed sentiment is from Papertrey Ink’s Color Pop: Autumn, a very old set. It was cut with one of Honey Bee’s Sentiment Banners. Once that panel was complete I added it with dimensional tape to a card base created with Woodgrain cardstock from Simon Says. The little acorn in the corner was also attached with a bit of dimensional tape.

You’ll find lots of inspiration on the Color Hues Blog from our Guest Designer, Valerie, and the always amazing Design Team. You have until November 14th at 9 am to join us in the gallery, and I hope to see you there!
I’m going to add this card to the Shopping Our Stash Challenge: Pumpkin Spice and Everything Nice and to As You See It: Happy Harvest.

Karen, your fall basket, filled with leaves, acorns and pumpkins, is ever so pretty. A wonderful card to showcase the challenge colours.

I adore this card, Karen! Your bountiful basket was a perfect direction to go with these colors. I am really wishing we would have made a trip north this year to see the leaves. Perhaps next year.
Such a beautiful, bountiful basket of autumnal fruitfulness Karen. Autumn has been strange this year as I fully expected an early one after our summer drought but none of it! It has been a mast year for fruit, berries and acorns, sadly not good when you have sheep in the fields and the birds have yet to strip the berries from the hedgerows. 🙂
I am crushing on your card, Karen! It is so beautifully done with pumpkins inside and out of the basket of leaves and the cute little acorn adorning the corner. The touch of gold is perfection. This is one gorgeous card!
Lovely, and so evocative. I swear I can smell the smells!
This is a beautiful, bountiful basket, Karen! The colors are awesome and I’m loving that basket!
Oh Karen, your card is SOOOOO pretty! I adore that basket and how it is filled with all the goodness of the Fall season! You definitely made Sheri’s colors SHINE with this beautiful card my friend!! Hugs. :0)
Karen what a lovely card. In colour & design it speaks all shades of Autumn.
We also have several trees in the area that are refusing to drop their leaves & some are the prettiest shades of yellow & gold.
Your basket of pumpkins is both beautiful and beautifully constructed. The soft sponging adds depth and the timber embossed card front a perfect choice. Thank you for joining in with us at As You See It. 🙂
This is rich in both colour and texture, Karen, which makes it a feast for the eyes! The ink blending you did really adds subtle depth to each well-constructed element! Thanks for joining us at As You See It Challenges!
Wow–this is stunning! The rich colors and awesome dies you used have created an amazing harvest card!! Just love it ALL! Thanks for playing with us at As You See It this week!
Karen this is so amazing. The elements worked together so perfectly. I love the basket with the gorgeous leaves inside it and the pumpkin, and the two pumpkins outside the basket such a perfect fall scene!
Everything is so perfectly shaded and arranged! I really love that you set the sentiment at a diagonal. Absolutely perfect! — I was too early for Illinois foliage and couldn’t make it to NC so I missed out this year too. 🙁
Karen your autumn basket is a cornucopia of harvest colour! I love the colour blending and the texture detailing on the diecut elements adds so much texture too. Gorgeous! Thanks for playing along with us over at As You See It this week!
What a lovely crisp fall design with your beautiful layered die cuts in the colors Karen! Wonderful embossed background for them too!
